How we're funded

Students at TLHS are funded the same as students enrolled in other public schools. The Sponsor (the School District of Palm Beach County) funds TLHS in accordance with Section 1002.33, F.S.  Funding is  based upon the sum of district operating funds from the Florida Education Finance Program (FEFP) as provided in Section 1011.62, F.S. and the General Appropriations Act, including gross state and local funds, discretionary lottery funds, and discretionary operating millage funds divided by total district funded weighted full-time equivalent (WFTE) students times the weighted full‑time equivalent students of the School. TLHS also receives its proportionate share of categorical program funds included in the FEFP.

Therefore, TLHS's only source of income is that which it receives from the State of Florida's FEFP program which is based on a per student per year calculation. Though these funds provide for basic services to students they are not designed to be the sole source of income for schools. Because of this we depend on contributions and fundraising efforts to produce additional income for our program.

In addition to monetary contributions we welcome our community to be involved in our school. Donations come in many forms and we are happy to accept them!

Please take a moment to read the below and find out how you can become involved and help!

Donations come in many different ways: Volunteering, In-kind, and Monetary

How can you help?

TLHS welcomes and depends on the contributions from the community no matter what form they come in. Volunteering is a reward way for community members to involve themselves in the school community. Opportunities include mentoring, tutoring, sharing a skill or a story with our students, performing office work or donating expertise of any kind.
We also appreciate donations of materials, from school supplies for our students to cleaning and office supplies and equipment.
As a small charter school, we are also welcome monetary contributions of any size. Monetrary contributions no matter how large or small can make an impact.  A small donation can help a student get a backpack or school supplies that he or she could not have afforded on their own, and larger contributions can be used for educational school trips, books, new learning materials, equipment, etc. TLHS embraces donations of all kinds no matter the type or size.
We appreciate and understand the importance of community and the want to provide the best possible educational experience for all of our students. Therefore, we encourage you to visit our school, learn about our programs, and see how you can help today!

For more information on how you can help or become involved please contact Lauren Keller by phone at (561) 667-9479, or by email at LaurenKellerTLHS@aol.com.
